Milwards House is Private secluded grade II 16th century house overlooking a large 5 acre picturesque lake in an idyllic rural setting with far reaching views of the Sussex downs.
Drive three quarters of a mile down a gravel drive framed by fields, ponds and old oaks, and arrive at the cobbled courtyard with ornate statued stone fountain.
Enjoy drinks and canapés on the balustrade terrace above the well established lawns, and enjoy the outstanding natural beauty in a park-like setting looking down at the lake, a haven for wildlife and birds.
Surrounded by our own 150 acre organic grass meadows and woodland,the atmosphere is tranquil and serene whatever the time of year.
Entrance Hall
Magnificent sweeping red carpeted staircase and stained glass window. Wood panelled walls, open fire and stone flooring with vaulted ceiling and exposed beams combining history and elegance.
Reception Room
Wood panelled room with beautiful wooden carved surround and open fire. Window seat with far reaching views overlooking lake and gardens. Access to terrace.
The Coach House
Woodburner with unique brick surround. Vaulted ceiling with exposed beams.Dual aspect Light and bright with Large French double doors to balcony overlooking lake and gardens. Seats 60 plus 10 standing . Licensed for civil ceremonies.
Gardens
The large gardens wrap around the terrace with well established lawns gently sloping to the lake. There is a natural pond with waterfall and goldfish and a large circular koi pond with fountain. The plantings have seasonal colour with rhododendrons, camellias, magnolias. There is a beautiful rose bed and rose arbour, herbaceous borders and a multitude of trees and ornamental trees in clusters positioned around the lawns.
Facilities
Errected on the lower lawns over locked by the balcony next to the 5 acre lake is a 200 sqr mtr fully lined and carpeted Marquee with seating and tables for 150 guest,a fully licensed bar, lighting and a sound system, with ample parking and coach access a spectaculare setting for your wedding.
